The US Court of Appeals for the District of Colombia Circuit dismissed a former Guantanamo detainee’s lawsuit against former secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld, according to a story at JURIST.

The original complaint [PDF] listed the plaintiff as Sami Abdulaziz Allaithi, an Egyptian professor who was teaching English in Kabul, Afghanistan. After US bombing campaigns began in Afghanistan, Allaithi left Afghanistan for Pakistan, but he was captured there, and then transferred to Guantanamo Bay.
